Lady Gaga’s Secret MTV Shoot

Lady Gaga Shares New Details about "You and I" Music Video

Lady Gaga has been mostly tight-lipped about the premise of her upcoming music video for her single “You and I,” but she shared details on Monday with ABC News Radio.

“I don’t want to give too much away,” Gaga, who recently shot the video in Nebraska, told ABC’s David Blaustein. “But it does take place in Nebraska, and I’m walking all the way from New York City to find this guy, and as I’m walking my feet start to bleed and I begin to get very tired, and all these strange things start to happen in a cornfield in the middle of nowhere.”

When told the song could become an anthem for the state of Nebraska, she replied cryptically, “Oh, yes, and perhaps for some others. You’ll see.”

“You and I” was inspired by Gaga’s reported boyfriend, Luc Carl, who hails from Nebraska. But she’s hoping that her fans can connect with the song in their own personal way.

“It’s meant to be interpreted in as many ways as you can interpret it and I intend, through the visuals, as I always do, to elevate what the song began being about and start to morph and change it into something otherworldly and surreal,” she said.

Gaga performed “You and I” on ABC’s The View on Monday while wearing a houndstooth-patterned outfit that matched her piano. She says she borrowed the idea for the outfit from an ad she once saw.

“I obviously go a bit overboard,” she said.

Lady Gaga Nominated in New VMA Category:

Voting for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards is under way, and MTV has announced yet another reason to raise our glass to the year's best music videos with the first-ever "Best Video With a Message" category.
The special category, in conjunction with MTV Act, celebrates the union between music and social activism, and highlights artists who created music videos that made us think about the world around us. These artists could have just made party songs, but instead they also took a stand against bullying, fought for LGBT rights and reminded us why we're all special. You've watched the videos on repeat, sang the songs in the shower and turned them into rally cries.

Take action and vote for "Best Video with a Message" through Aug. 16, below.

Lady Gaga: Straight, No Chaser

We observe Gaga in her natural habitat, with a good bottle of whiskey, in Bigger Than the Sound.

..."Drinking wasn't the only thing she did, of course. She also danced, vamped, sang, bled and underwent more costume changes than Evander Berry Wall — all over the span of one very long day on one very big soundstage in New York City. I'm not allowed to write about exactly what she was shooting (at least not yet), but suffice it to say, Gaga certainly deserved a few minutes of rest. Especially since she had spent the first part of the day filming a wearing an outfit that could only be described as "houndstooth overdrive....."

NICOLA FORMICHETTI TO DESIGN OWN LINE

By Lucinda Rose Constable, Pages Digital
Nicola Formichetti has always been a major player in the fashion industry, well as long as I have been around for, but it seems he is coming out of the woodworks much more recently. He was always known for his work at Dazed & Confused and Vogue Hommes International, but it was through his close quarters with Lady Gaga that truly catapulted him into the world of celebrity. Now Formichetti is a star in his own right, only cemented by all the blog craziness surrounding him. Last year he was named the Creative Director of Mugler, which is a huge coup for someone with no design background.

His debut show for the French house was generally a success and lived up to the hype. Now Formichetti has stated that by this time next year he will have a line of his own, supposedly a namesake label. It will more than likely be a massive hit, well you would hope so with Lady Gaga as your number one fan. In a time where most ‘designers’ are actually glorified stylists, at least Formichetti has a well rounded and informed opinion on the world of high fashion.
