TIP explains why he's pushing back "KING UNCAGED."
A couple of months ago it was revealed that rapper T.I. and Pop star Lady Gaga had recorded a song together that was set to appear on Tip’s upcoming album King Uncaged. However, with Gaga being the perfectionist that she is, she’s decided to scrap the song all together in favor of a newer, even better track!
Peep what the Kang told our friends over at Rap-Up.com below:
“[Gaga] brought it to my knowledge that she would like to top what we already have,” Tip exclusively told Rap-Up.com. “That being said, I don’t know if that’s going to be a keeper or if that’s going to be one-upped or what not.”
The King of the South considers the megastar to be “a phenomenal talent and a wonderful lady,” joking that he had to beg to score some of her precious time. “I begged on hands and knees, please!” he laughed.
T.I. explained how their paths crossed when Rap-Up TV interviewed him at the MTV Movie Awards in June. “I worked with the producer RedOne and made it known that I was interested in working with her and the enthusiasm was shared, and we were able to get it done.”

Meanwhile, T.I. recently announced that he has decided to delay King Uncaged, pushing the project back from its September 28th release to a now unknown, later date in order to divert all of his focus on promoting his new film “Takers”, which hits theaters at the end of this month (Fri. Aug 27).
“I pushed the album back so I can completely focus my attention to the rollout and release of this film Takers,” he said. “I feel it wouldn’t be fair to the film or the album if I was splitting my attention span amongst the two, so I hit pause on the album to completely focus my attention to rolling out this here film. And once we prayerfully debut No. 1—25-plus, 20-plus million—then after those bottles have been popped and that celebration [is] underway, I will completely resubmerge myself back into the music, fully on album mode.”
Tip says he has about a month left of recording and has done over 100 songs already. The next step is to narrow them down and pick out which 14 will make the final cut.
