World-renowned artist agrees to create interactive portrait of Lady Gaga when 250,000 fans show support. Gaga fans around the world excited to become part of Lady Gaga history.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 20, 2011
At the urging of Lady Gaga fans, world-renowned celebrity artist David Ilan has agreed to create an interactive portrait of Lady Gaga which will unite over a million Gaga fans. Fans of Lady Gaga have been asking Ilan to create a project similar to his Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait, which is the largest Michael Jackson tribute in the world. Ilan announced that he will begin the Lady Gaga project after the first 250,000 fans join.
Ilan said, "I'm a fan of Lady Gaga's music, style and message. A dot portrait of this magnitude will require participation of at least a million fans. I challenge Lady Gaga fans to come together and bring this project alive! If the fans can organize and bring 250,000 fans together, I will begin to draw."
Ilan creates his portraits using only hand-drawn dots on a canvas. In this project, every dot on the canvas will actually represent one of Lady Gaga's fans. Ilan will add a dot for each fan that participates. The end result will be an image of Lady Gaga created by her fans, one dot at a time. One dot equals one fan.
Lady Gaga fans have jumped in head-first to meet the 250,000 fan challenge. An official registration site has been created, http://www.gagadots.com/, where fans all over the world are joining (for free). Blogs are popping up everywhere to encourage fans to join. Fans have also taken to Facebook and Twitter to spread the word about the project.
Ilan is known for including good causes with every project he creates. For example, his project called Points With Purpose, http://www.pointswithpurpose.com/MYPWP/home.php, helps survivors of rape and sexual abuse. Ilan stated that the Lady Gaga project will be no different. He plans on incorporating causes that are important to Lady Gaga, such as gay rights.
Lady Gaga fans everywhere are invited to participate in this history-making project by going to http://www.gagadots.com/ and joining for free.
