Lady Gaga is Launch Partner for Social Messaging Service

Lady Gaga is one of the launch partners for a new social messaging service called SkyGrid Groups, which lets a celebrity, organization, or other brand pull together social-media bits from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Flickr onto a page.

SkyGrid's offering is that anyone using the free service can quickly create a page for any specific concert or appearance. Then, through a custom interface that person can search Twitter or YouTube and automatically add media or the profile pictures of users who have been publicly tweeting about that event.

The company is also working with unnamed Hollywood studios on groups tied to summer blockbusters, said SkyGrid founder and CEO Kevin Pomplun who expects announcements with studios soon.

“With SkyGrid Groups artists, brands, and public figures are now connecting with their fans in more places than ever before," Pomplun said.

SkyGrid was founded in 2005. Its investors include RRE Ventures, BlackRock, Amazon.com boss Jeff Bezos’ Bezos Expeditions and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
