Top money-making concerts of the year
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- This year marked the year Lady Gaga showed up in a meat gown to MTV's Video Music Awards and country singer Taylor Swift sang breakup songs to Twilight actor, Taylor Lautner. Also in 2010, John Mayer threw in the towel with social networking site Twitter as teens around the world were struck with "Bieber fever."
But despite the revolution of pop music, a recent poll awards the No. 1 money-making concert tour of the year to an old favorite: Bon Jovi.
Pollster, a trade publication that covers the concert industry globally, released a North American poll ranking the top-grossing concert tours of 2010, as well as worldwide rankings. Bon Jovi took the top spot in both polls.
According to Pollster, the rock legend made $109 million in the United States and a total of $201 million around the world -- playing 80 shows in their global tour.
Second place in the North American poll was a tie between Roger Waters and AC/DC. Since going back on tour in 2008, AC/DC put on a total of 40 shows around the world, grossing $177 million. Waters made nearly $90 million, playing in 35 cities.
According to the rankings, the top 50 tours around the world took in a total of $2.93 billion -- down about 12% from last year. A total of 28.3 million tickets were sold, down 7% from last year; and the average ticket price increased $2.86, or about 4%.
The remaining top 10 North American tours include Dave Mathews Band, Paul McCartney, Michael Bublé, Eagles, Lady Gaga, James Taylor/Carole King, The Black Eyed Peas and John Mayer.
The top five money-making concerts around the globe were Bon Jovi, followed by AC/DC, U2, Lady Gaga and Metallica.

Omaha goes gaga over Gaga
Yes, Omaha. Pop singer and fashion icon Lady Gaga spent the Christmas weekend in the Big O.
Rumors swirled online all weekend of Gaga sightings at various spots around town: a west Omaha fish joint, a downtown a pizza parlor, a low-key Benson bar.
Gaga was in town celebrating the holidays with boyfriend Luc Carl, who is originally from Springfield, Neb., where his parents still live.
Geoff Hammond, manager of Absolutely Fresh Seafood Market at 120th and Pacific Streets, had Gaga as a customer but didn't think much of it.
Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, walked into the business just after 12:50 p.m. Christmas Eve in chic denim threads, high heels and black shades. She picked up some fresh fish and scallops.
“Sweet lady,” Hammond, 62, said. “She didn't look like she was from here. She looked like a New Yorker.”
A man in the store asked her if she was Lady Gaga, but she shook her head “no.”
Andrew Tatreau was also in the fish market that day to pick up shrimp for Christmas Eve dinner with his mother. He had impeccable timing.
“I looked across the counter and saw this blonde girl with big shades,” he said. “I had to take a second look before realizing it was Lady Gaga.”
Tatreau used to live in New York City and had seen Gaga at parties and nightclubs.
“But it was New York. You expected that,” he said “I didn't expect to see her on Christmas Eve at a seafood place in Omaha, Nebraska. That just doesn't happen.”
But Hammond wouldn't have known he had a pop superstar as a customer.
He glanced at the name on her credit card. No Gaga there. As Hammond handed her credit card back, he noticed her fingernails, which had little shoes on each nail. He held her hand for a moment, admiring the design.
When asked how it felt holding the hand of a multi-platinum rock star, he joked, “I don't know.... I'd like to know how she feels about holding my hand.”
Just before leaving the fish market, Gaga confessed, “I didn't tell the truth. I am Lady Gaga.” After she stepped out of the shop, Hammond did a little Internet research on the singer. He found that the star's given name matched the name on the credit card receipt.
Hammond's sighting was just one of many over the holiday weekend.
The singer laid low with her boyfriend and his family on Christmas Day. But Sunday and Monday were a different matter.
At about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Gaga and her boyfriend joined friends for cocktails at the Sydney Bar at 5918 Maple St. The Benson bar had a sparse crowd that night.
Jamie Massey, one of the bar owners, dropped in to check on inventory. Most everyone, including Massey, was in chill mode when Gaga and Carl walked in the bar.
It was no big deal to Massey — Gaga was just Luc's girl. Massey and Carl have known each other for years. They both played in bands at the old 49er on Dodge Street.
The couple had stopped in at the Sydney for a few cocktails before the Little Brazil concert at the Waiting Room and Lounge, just a few doors away.
Omahan Taron Ballard noticed Gaga's outfit, a black high-cut leotard, fishnet stockings with a huge hole on her upper thigh, a cropped black leather jacket, knee-high stiletto boots and a choker with large gems.
“She had giant bling around her neck” said Ballard, 28. “She looked like Lady Gaga.”
Ballard said the couple stayed at the bar for about an hour.
At one point, Gaga played “Roxanne” by the Police on the jukebox, singing as she walked away. Mikaela Olson asked to have her photograph taken with the star but was turned away.
When Carl left for a bathroom break, Gaga ran over to Olson's table and told her “let's take a quick one.”
“I was shocked,” said Olson, 24. “She was so nice. She started talking to us and was hanging out at my table.”
The two posed for a mobile phone snapshot. Just then Carl returned and told her they should go. By then, the bar was starting to fill. Fifteen people became 50 in less than 45 minutes. Word was starting to spread that Gaga was there.
The couple moved on to the Waiting Room for the concert but were there for only 10 to 15 minutes before the place was swamped with fans.
The Waiting Room became so packed that Gaga and Carl had to leave. People began to mob the couple as they headed for the exit.
On Monday, Gaga was spotted at Goodnights, a downtown pizza restaurant across the street from the new T.D. Ameritrade stadium. She was also said to be at Papio Bowl with friends. The bowling alley closed to the public so the celebrity could bowl in privacy and later reopened for open family bowling.
On Monday night, Gaga was spotted at the Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs. The “Poker Face” singer wasn't playing poker, though — her game of choice was blackjack in the high-limit room.

Add John Lennon as a friend on Facebook? It could have happened.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Yoko Ono looked back on Lennon's life shortly after the 30th anniversary of his death and insisted that he was a very forward looking man.
"If John were around today he'd love Facebook," she said. "He would love the way the world has changed. He'd love the internet and Twitter. He'd be sending out pronouncements and messages and giving his opinion all the time on everything."
Another thing John would love? Lady Gaga -- and Yoko herself is a big fan, too. Especially of her bottom.
"Lady Gaga has a very pretty bottom," Ono declared. "She performed with me on stage wearing a see-through lace catsuit and people thought it was an insult because you could see her bottom. I'm the lady who did an exhibition of bottoms. How could hers offend me?
In fact, it didn't: "She has a very lovely bottom. I think she's wonderful. John would have loved her, because she's an artist, she's fearless and she pushes every limit, which we both always adored."
The performance together that Ono refers to was an October concert, where Gaga joined up with the conceptual band that Ono and Lennon started over forty years ago, Plastic Ono Band. In many ways, Ono and Gaga are similar, both avante garde artists in their times. A minor uproar was caused among Lennon fans when Sean Lennon tweeted a picture of Gaga playing John's famed white piano, an act he later defended.

Lady Gaga: Pantless in Paris
Quite obviously, Lady Gaga simply didn’t have a thing to wear in Paris. Before the second of two concerts on Tuesday, the pop star left her Place Vendôme hotel late in the afternoon, “wearing a leather jacket,” according to one eyewitness. “She had on a matching beige string, big black fishnet stockings and really high, high heels…but no pants!” Gaga, who displayed a similar wardrobe preference last summer at a New York Mets game, evidently felt a quick change of heart—or the afternoon’s near-freezing temperature. Within minutes, her car stopped along the rue Richelieu, where she headed into a recently opened Bruce Field boutique. “Lady Gaga came in at 5:15,” an employee tells PEOPLE, “and she bought a number of things.” Bruce Field is a discreet upscale boutique featuring classic Ivy League style clothing for men and women. Among the items a still-pantless Gaga and an assistant brought up from the downstairs try-on area and piled onto the shop’s counter, an eyewitness says, “were pants and a lot of scarves. Most everything in purple.” Did she buy pants? “I can’t tell you,” the shop employee says. “I can tell you she stayed about 20 minutes and when she left there were some 30 photographers–and loads of fans–outside. It’s been a most unusual afternoon.” –Peter Mikelbank

Lady Gaga Greets Fans In Paris After Show Cancellation
Gaga poses for pictures, hugs fans on the streets of Paris after her show was canceled due to inclement weather.
After canceling her show in Paris over the weekend due to stormy weather, Lady Gaga showed her little monsters some love on the streets of the City of Lights. Gaga, dressed in a beige, low-cut Victorian-style gown and sporting a beehive and John Lennon-esque sunglasses, emerged on the streets of Paris on Monday to greet screaming fans.
The singer posed for pictures, and one fan even got close enough to touch the singer. In a series of photos, the fan, dressed in a white parka and beige knit hat, scarf and gloves, stopped the singer for a hug before accidentally touching Gaga's breast. The grope took place as the as the singer was walking away from the encounter.
Gaga has been abroad for a slew of dates on her never-ending Monster Ball Tour. She joined Semi Precious Weapons onstage for one of their club gigs in London. She even gave a sneak preview of her forthcoming Born This Way album, which is set for release in early 2011.
"Want to hear 'You and I'? This one is going to be on Born This Way. It's one of my favorites. The album doesn't have a bunch of rock ballads or anything, but this is one of them," she told the crowd at a show in London.
"Now, I don't know if you know this, but for those of you who don't know, I write all my own music. Every single lyric, melody and note was created by me. I am not manufactured. I'm a bad cat and coming for you 'cause I believe in you and I. It's not that I don't like to be humble, it's just that pop music has a pretty bad rap," Gaga explained.

Lady Gaga reveals plans for Born This Way album
Lady Gaga has told Newsbeat her new album, Born This Way, will be her "most innovative" work so far
Speaking backstage on the final night of her UK Monster Ball tour, she confirmed an as-yet-untitled new single would be released in February 2011, with the album arriving "shortly after".
She described the album as "a marriage of electronic music with major, epic, dare I even say, metal or rock 'n' roll, pop, anthemic style melodies with really sledge-hammering dance beats."
"It's finished and all, it's just fine-tuning everything," the pop megastar added.
'More poetic'
"It's kind of like the post-operative stage of the album. I've already done the full heart surgery. I'm just sewing myself back up again," she laughed.
During the gig she showcased one new song set to appear on the album, You And I, a piano-led rock song featuring a Guns N' Roses-style guitar solo.
"I think that lyrically this album is more poetic," she explained.
"It's really written by the fans, they really wrote it for me because every night they're funnelling so much into me.
'Mother monster'
"So I wrote it for them. Born This Way is all about my little monsters and me, mother monster," she continued.
The London gig rounded off a very successful 2010 for the singer, which saw her winning three Brit awards, two Grammys and eight prizes at the MTV Video Music Awards.
And with the Monster Ball tour due to resume in north America, Canada, and Mexico from February to May 2011, Gaga is not expected to tour with a new production in the UK again until 2012.
"It's the last time I'm going to perform here until you guys hear Born This Way," she said before the gig. "It's very exciting,"
But the pop megastar revealed she will be in the UK "between February and March 2011" to debut her as-yet-untitled new single on TV.

Lady Gaga Monster Ball Paris Tour Stop Cancelled
A ban barring vehicles over a certain weight on the road in bad weather derailed singer's Paris date.
By Mawuse Ziegbe
Lady Gaga's French fans will have to wait to check out the singer rock "Bad Romance" due to some bad weather.
The superstar's Monster Ball Tour was slated to hit Paris' Bercy venue on Sunday (December 19), but severe weather derailed the pop megastar's plans. According to a press release posted on the theater's website, Gaga's Sunday show was cancelled because of a ban barring heavy vehicles over 7.5 tons from hitting the road in dicey conditions.
Gaga tweeted that French authorities had taken custody of her caravan for over a day and arrested two members of her camp when the crew arrived for the Paris date.
"All 28 of my trucks for the Monsterball were detained by the French government going on over 26 hrs, 2 of my employees were arrested trying to get into Paris so we could perform," she tweeted. "I am furious and devastated, its unfair to my fans and to me."
Gaga added that she tried to tone down the theatrics but was told a lack of production resources ruled out the option of a simpler version of the elaborate stage show.
"I asked if I could do a stripped version of show, but there would be no sound or power source, its all been detained," she wrote. "I'm so sorry, angry+sad." The songstress, who famously hates ditching appearances, apologized for not being able to hit the stage.
"I love Paris + I love my French fans. I'm sorry little monsters. A photo of storm, I'm stuck on bus," she wrote, tweeting a snapshot of the grey weather.
The theater maintained that the Monday show will go on as planned, but could not confirm if the Sunday date will be officially moved to Tuesday.

Lady GaGa and Elton John's 'Gnomeo and Juliet' Duet to Be Released on Feb. 8
The theme song titled 'Hello Hello' will come out along with thirteen other 'Gnomeo and Juliet' soundtracks a week before Valentine's Day.
"Hello Hello", a song which reunites good friends Lady GaGa and Elton John for the first time since their Grammy performance, will be released on February 8, 2011. It will be made available for purchase in a "Gnomeo and Juliet" soundtrack album along with the other 13 songs.
Back in October, GaGa tweeted, "Eltoneo + Guliet! Finishing our duet Hello, Hello in studio. Sounding so amazing, some last finishing touches and off to the movies!" The song reportedly will be played in the movie when the two lead characters, lawn ornaments named Gnomeo and Juliet, meet for the first time.
According to the tracklisting in Amazon, John will be singing at least seven songs out of the fourteen tracks, and two of them are brand new. In addition, there will be a new version of his 1972 song "Crocodile Rock" which is performed by Nelly Furtado.
The movie itself is planned to hit theaters in the United States on February 11. Co-produced by John, it features James McAvoy voicing Gnomeo and Emily Blunt voicing Juliet. Joining them in the upcoming Disney animated film are Jason Statham and Patrick Stewart.

Lady Gaga's Meat Dress Tops Time's 'Fashion Statement' List
Singer's infamous VMA getup was named Biggest Fashion Statement of 2010.
It was celebrated, criticized, copied and ultimately turned into jerky, and now, Lady Gaga's infamous VMA meat dress is being honored, by Time magazine, of all places.
Yes, her carnivorous couture was singled out as Time's #1 Fashion Statement of 2010, lauded for its general insanity, creativity and ability to stand a cut above every other gown worn by celebrities this year.
"If making fashion statements is your primary raison d'être, it's easy to get bored. Exploding bra? Flamed out. Dress made of bubbles? Please. Using your hair as a bow? Not again. But a dress made of meat — with shoes, hat and purse to match — well, that's fresh," the magazine writes. "The carnivorous ensemble Lady Gaga wore to the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony, which is pretty much mecca for eccentric musical sartorialists, raised many questions: What does it mean? How was it made? Does she want A1 sauce with it? Gaga's explanation of the flank frock — that if we didn't stand up for our rights, we'd be nothing but meat on our bones — seemed disappointing. We prefer to think of it as haute cutlet."
Gaga's meat dress beat out memorable looks like M.I.A.'s Scream 2010 awards burka, Venus Williams' French Open corset and Rihanna's Gumby-esque getup from Germany's Echo awards to take the #1 spot on Time's list, which is part of their "Top Everything of 2010" countdown.
Other notables to make the Fashion Statement Top 10 include Britney Spears, Taylor Momsen, Heidi Klum and, uh, Rita Wilson ... none of whom were photographed wearing a single cut of beef in 2010.

Lady Gaga planning to teach fashion at New York City University!!!
LADY GaGa has applied for a job as a teacher!
The eccentric Poker Face hitmaker has reportedly decided she’s desperate to teach fashion and art appreciation at a prestigious New York City university.
“She wants to be a college lecturer and has asked about a position at the famous Parsons School For Design,” a source told a British tabloid newspaper.
“She wants to use her fashion sense and avant garde art obsession to launch an academic career.
“She’s pitched to be an artist-in-residence.
“Nothing has been finalized yet, but she’d like to teach in the fashion design program.
“She wants to incorporate elements of music study, popular culture and media studies.
“If it goes well, she’d be interested in a more permanent arrangement.
“She thinks teaching would make people see she is much more than just a flamboyant pop star.”
GaGa — whose real name is Stefani Germanotta — has previously insisted she’ll never dress casual because she doesn’t want to upset her fans.
“That’s a very dangerous precedent, and it’s not fair to my fans,” she said. “They don’t want to see me that way, just like I don’t want to see David Bowie in a tracksuit. He never let anyone see him that way.
“The outlet for my work is not just the music and the videos, it’s every breathing moment of my life. I’m always saying something about art and music and fame. That’s why you don’t ever catch me in sweatpants.”

Lady Gaga's New Single Due in February: Report
The world is one step closer to hearing new music from Lady Gaga, as the pop star has revealed that fans will get to hear the first single from her highly anticipated sophomore album "Born This Way" in February, according to Lady-Gaga.net.
Gaga shared the news with her fan site backstage at the Rotterdam stop of her Monster Ball tour, and while she did not give away the name of the single, she said the "Born This Way" album will be like "bad kids going to church, having fun on a high level."
Gaga also issued a brief video message to thank fans for their support. "I can't wait to play you 'Born This Way," she said. "It's killing me."
Set for release in early 2011, Gaga's follow-up to "The Fame" could potentially include three songs that the star has previewed over the past few months: the title track, which she teased at the MTV VMAs in September; and the songs "You & I" and "Living on the Radio," which she added to her tour setlist over the summer.
Gaga declared that "Born This Way" will be the "greatest album of this decade" when her Monster Ball tour hit Gdsank, Poland on Friday (Nov. 26). "Not for nothing, the album's finished and it's f*cking really good," she told the crowd. The singer added that "Born This Way" is "so much deeper than a wig or lipstick or an outfit, or a f*cking meat dress...'Born This Way' is about what keeps us up at night and what makes us afraid."

Lady Gaga named 'Most Provocative Celebrity of The Year'
HLN's Showbiz Tonight has declared Lady Gaga as its "Most Provocative Celebrity of The Year."
The Starr Report has learned that Gaga bested finalists Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, Lindsay Lohan and Miley Cyrus for the highly coveted honor, bestowed each year by the popular entertainment show anchored by AJ Hammer and Brooke Anderson.
"The key was that the mention of Lady Gaga's name sparks a visceral reaction," the New York Post quoted the show's executive producer David Levine as saying.
"And she's had the most continued interest among all the nominees. She became the first person to reach 1 billion [views] on YouTube and she has 6 million followers on Twitter.
"She's given passionate speeches at the Don't Ask, Don't Tell rally in Portland [Maine] and her plea to end bullying had an impact. She also revealed that she has Lupus and then there was 'the finger' incident at the Mets game.
"She also has a hit album. Her reach is immeasurable," Levine said.
Levine said roughly 40 HLN and CNN staffers vote on the "Most Provocative Celebrity of the Year" selection - and only four votes went for Lohan.
"The day before we voted, it was down to Lohan and Charlie Sheen. It was a little obvious and I sent out a note to everyone telling them it was their last opportunity [to nominate someone]," he said.
"Somebody threw Lady Gaga's name into the ranks; we hadn't really discussed her...and when we told AJ and Brooke, they were like, 'That's a no-brainer,'" Levine added.
Britney Spears snared the honor in 2006 and 2007, with Sarah Palin winning in 2008 and Jon Gosselin in 2009.

Lady Gaga Asks Giorgio Armani to Design Tour Wardrobe
Giorgio Armani, who dressed Lady Gaga in her headline-making getup at last year's Grammy Awards, has announced that he will design the singer's costumes for her upcoming Monster Ball global tour that kicks off in February 2011. Her wardrobe will include a structured look with bold shoulders that is completely embroidered with diamanté, another multi-colored look with ribbon work done to create a lobster-inspired effect on the front and sleeves, a minidress with a mirrored finish and a long trench coat in black patent leather. The singer will also accessorize her looks with shoes and eyewear exclusively by Armani.

German hacker sorry for stealing Lady Gaga songs
BERLIN (AP) — A teenage German hacker says he's sorry for stealing pop songs from Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson and other singers — some previously unreleased — and selling them online.
Deniz A. — whose last name has not been released — told Bild newspaper in an interview on Wednesday that he and a friend hadn't set out to do anything wrong.
The 18-year-old says: "I'm sorry for everything I've done — I never thought it would go so far... we were only interested in the music."
Charges are yet to be filed.
Authorities say the two allegedly used a Trojan Horse malware to hack into the artists' computers for about 12 months before being discovered and earned more than euro10,000 ($13,240) in illegal sales.
The theft forced the advanced release of several singles, officials said Friday.

Lady Gaga Named Billboard’s 2010 Artist of the Year
Lady Gaga had a big year: She received eight wax figures modeled after her in Madame Trussads locations around the world, sold millions of albums and received countless awards. Now, due to so much success, Gaga has been named Artist of the Year by Billboard.
Lady Gaga’s first and second albums The Fame (2008) and The Fame Monster (2009) ranked 4th and 13th on the year end Billboard 200 charts. She released four singles, which appeared on the Hot 100 songs roundup.
Lady Gaga is one of only seven female artists to receive this honor since the creation of the top overall artist category in 1981. Those artists include Taylor Swift in 2009, LeAnn Rimes in 1997, Alanis Morissette in 1996, Mariah Carey in 1991, Whitney Houston in 1986 and Madonna in 1985. Lady Gaga is also one of the fastest artist to go from top new artist to top artist, other than Chris Brown who received both honors at one time. Whitney Houston is the only other artist to achieve this feat back in 1985.
Other artists include Taylor Swift, the No. 2 artist of year the, and Eminem, the No. 3 artist of the year and the top male artist of 2010. Country group Lady Antebellum are the No. 4 artist of the year. Ke$ha was named top new artist of 2010.
Rankings for the year end tally is based on an album's weekly charting sales.

Lady Gaga Has Worldwide Wax Appeal
Madame Tussauds has gone gaga for Lady Gaga.
The renowned wax museum today unveiled not one, not two, but eight different figures in the singer's likeness at eight of its locations around the globe.
Of course, it kind of makes sense when you're talking about somebody who is just as famous for her outrageous outfits as she is for her music. In fact, how do you pick just eight?
All the dummies, on display at Madame Tussauds in New York, Las Vegas, Hollywood, London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Shanghai and Hong Kong, took four months to complete at a total cost of $2.4 million.
Thankfully, none of that money was spent on another meat dress.

Lady Gaga Named MAC Spokesperson for 2011
Lady Gaga will go it alone in 2011 as the MAC Viva Glam spokesperson, the beauty brand announced on Thursday. Earlier this year, Gaga and Cyndi Lauper participated in the campaign, which benefits the MAC AIDS Fund.
The two stylish singers helped raise the most money ever for the cause. "We want to make this trendy and fun," Gaga told Women's Wear Daily earlier this year. "Sex education should be bright and vibrant and every woman should want to have this in her purse."
The first peek at the campaign, shot by famed photographer Nick Knight and styled by Nicola Formichetti, shows a blonde Lady Gaga with sultry smoky eyes.

Lady Gaga Gets Waxed In A Big Way
Lady Gaga is the latest celebrity to get her own wax figure at Madame Tussauds museum. Since this is Lady Gaga, you know it’s not going to be just any old launch, either . EIGHT different wax figures of the singer will be debuted in the biggest launch in the history of the museum at eight different museums around the world (three in the United States).
The first thumbnail below (of a man sculpting) was taken in Merlin Studios in London on October 4, 2010, and represents a “key step” in the creation process.
Here’s what the eight figures will be:
1.Lady in Lace – Alex Noble lace body stocking and Philip Tracey face mask topped off with Marie Antoinette style hairstyle. As seen at The Brit Awards 2010.
2.Telephone – Phillip Tracey telephone hat paired with a black Armani coat, flared trousers and towering heels. As seen on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross in March 2010.
3.Harlequin – Black Marjan Pejoski Body suit with oversized black neck fuff and sleek, super straight platinum hair. As seen at Grand Intercontinental Hotel Seoul, South Korea.
4.Kinky Boots – Short black Bruno Pieters leather body suit cut away to reveal black lace bra, quirky “disc” hat and thigh high black boots. As worn at the Hakkasan restaurant in London in April 2009.
5.Mini Mouse – Off one shoulder black latex body suit with long straight hair topped off with “mini mouse” style buns. As seen at the BBC Radio 1 studios in London.
6.Hair Hat – Gaga’s own blonde locks splayed out into a huge sunhat teamed with black see-through net dress. As seen at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
7.Wired “wing” dress with lightning “eye” – Short black Orschel-Read strapless dress with wired, thigh high patent boots and black lightning stripe make up over one eye. As worn on the Wetten Dass..? gameshow in Germany in November 2009.
8.Big Hair – Towering purple hair piece atop waist length platinum locks, with nude Maison Martin Margiela bodysuit, white blazer and huge platforms. As seen outside Phoenix Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark in July 2009.
The three museums in the United States that will house Lady Gaga wax figures are New York, Las Vegas, and Hollywood. The other Madame Tussauds museums that will have Lady Gaga wax figures are: London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Shanghai, and Hong Kong.
All eight wax figures will be debuted on December 9, 2010. Well, with all of Lady Gagas distinct looks, I guess she’s the perfect celebrity to do this with!

Lady Gaga Keeps MTV News' Top 25 Songs Of 2010 Rolling
On Thursday, MTV News began our countdown of the Top 25 Songs of 2010, revealing our picks for 25 through 18. On Friday (December 3), we're unveiling 17 through 11, a list that includes heavy-hitters like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and B.o.B.
And if seeing those kinds of names outside the top 10 shocks you, well, you're not alone. But in a year with so many really great songs, some tough decisions had to be made — and MTV News staffers were the ones making the calls. Over the past month, we asked them to come up with their own lists of their 25 favorite songs of 2010; they didn't have to be singles and, really, they didn't even have to be released in 2010. We were looking for any song that made an impact this year, be it commercially, culturally or critically. When we finally received all the lists, we had proof of just what a year it was: More than 300 different songs from some 200 artists were chosen, and it was up to a select few to tabulate the results and create a top 25.
Using a point system — the #1 song on each list received 25 points, the #25 song received 1 point — we spent the next few weeks whittling down the lists. Finally, after some frantic addition (math was never our strong suit) and some rather spirited debate, we had our list — and we feel it's a great one, full of songs by artists both big and small, yet all impactful in some way. It wasn't easy, but we got it done.
This week, we'll roll out 25 through 11, and then on Monday, we'll begin to unveil our top 10. Oh, and we're interested in seeing your lists too. Feel free to add them in the comments below. But now, without further ado, let's look back on the year that was, by continuing our countdown of the Top 25 Songs of 2010:
HERE
16. Lady Gaga, "Alejandro"
Total Points: 77
It's perhaps the most, uh, oddball track in Lady Gaga's increasingly odd arsenal — in that it sounds like Madonna's "La Isla Bonita" (or an Ace of Base B-side) — so it should come as no surprise to anyone that she decided to release it as a single, complete with a nine-minute video in which she swallows a rosary and pouts like Marlene Dietrich. Sure, Katy Perry might not have liked it all that much, but the rest of us marveled at Gaga's bravado, not only to transform a breezy ode to summertime love into a curio from the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, but to carry such a retro-leaning song all the way to the upper reaches of the Hot 100. There truly isn't anything she can't do.

2010 YEAR IN REVIEW - Top 10 Searches: Lady Gaga #5
Lady Gaga owned 2009. The year 2010 was all about figuring out how she did it.
With hit singles, sold-out concerts, and a meeting with the Queen last year, Lady Gaga might have been excused if she had had a meltdown or just burned out this year. But while her chart success didn't top 2009's, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta cemented herself as the first lady of pop culture.
Go, go, Gaga
She lost to Taylor Swift at the Grammys (which let critics huff once more at the award show's irrelevance) but dominated the MTV Video Music Awards a few months later.
If the mainstream didn't notice her six No. 1 hits (something that took Mariah Carey 12 years to do), then it did notice the sold-out concerts, the "Glee" episode, and her rallying cry against the American military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy. Plus, all the wonks spilled ink studying the Gaga origin myths and authenticity.
Ultimate quick-change artist
She has survived the scrutiny well. So far, at age 24, Lady Gaga is no passing pop tart (a label plastered on fame seekers like Paris Hilton, fellow alum of the Convent of the Sacred Heart). For one thing, Germanotta actually paid attention to her cultural studies: Her credited inspirations call out rock stars (Grace Jones and Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, whose "Radio Gaga" inspired her name), performance artists (Leigh Bowery and Klaus Nomi), poets (Rainer Maria Rilke), pop artists (Andy Warhol), and the gay subculture.
Also, her classical piano training and pipes, which reminded one producer of a "female John Lennon," put her in the category of serious singer-songwriter and proved her a performance artist on her own merits.
Her childhood preference for alter egos and stage names has made her the ultimate quick-change artist. Pundit analysis reckons that the manic speed of her costume changes is tailor-made for fickle Internet attention spans. Fickle? Her fans (or "little monsters" in Gaga jargon) have remained devoted all year, helping her set records in Web video viewings, Facebook fans, Twitter followers, and making the year's top 10 search terms on Yahoo!.
Bending genders
Lady Gaga bent gender, too: Persistent intersex rumors (or, in search terms, "lady gaga hermaphrodite") testified to her successful devotion to androgyny. The New York Times called her the "enemy to the authentic." Really, though, the lady was the ultimate drag queen, remaking glam rock in her own image and opening a new path for female artists. As far out there as she seemed to be, underneath the fake blood and histrionics and meat dresses were reinventions of old-school acts like the Ziegfield Follies, Barnum & Bailey, and heavy-metal pyromaniacs.
Sure, a bit of Gaga overload was bound to happen, such as M.I.A. dismissing her label mate as "not progressive." Then there were some 2010 dramas, like her criticizing "American Idol" for "poorly" editing her performance, ducking into Jerry Seinfeld's empty box seats at a June Mets game, or countersuing her ex-producer (although that was resolved speedily). Keeping up with Gaga could be more exhausting than tracking Lindsay Lohan's electronic bracelet.
A moody sign of the times
But Germanotta stuck to the business of Lady Gaga (even landing a fusty job title as Polaroid's creative director), and people have been buying.
By all accounts, Lady Gaga dealt with her demons (such as they were) before achieving fame. As she told Scotland's Daily Record, "I did this [climb to fame] the way you are supposed to," playing every club with her given name, quitting school, and dabbling in drugs before becoming a superstar. An early bad break -- Island Def Jam signed her up, then broke off the relationship -- just pushed her "deeper into the parallel reality of Lady Gaga."
Tellingly, online searches for Lady Gaga in 2010 relentlessly focused on the music. In these "too much information" times, her masquerades gave breathing room to followers who didn't have to keep an accounting of addictions, breakups, or family squabbles. In fact, an album advance paid for her beloved dad's open-heart surgery.
Gaga isn't just an artist: She's a moody sign of the times and even of a place. Leave it to her to define herself best, as she told New York Magazine: "The Lower East Side has an arrogance, a stench. We walk and talk and live and breathe who we are with such an incredible stench that eventually the stench becomes a reality. Our vanity is a positive thing. It's made me the woman I am today."
