Lady Gaga titled her debut album "The Fame" before she'd even got a taste of it. Now that the singer, born Stefani Germanotta, is one of the biggest pop sensations in the world, she's even more fascinated with the drama of stardom. Onstage last night in St. Paul, Minnesota, Gaga debuted a new song called "Living on the Radio" that appears to be a lullaby directed to herself. The song is a reminder to trudge through the loneliness of life on the road (and life at the top) because there's no high like hearing her own songs broadcast to millions over the airwaves, which she describes on the track as her "dream."

My Lady Gaga Stained Glass Piece.
I've seen many Little Monsters create art for Lady Gaga. So, I thought I might as well do the same. The latest hobby I've picked up is making stained glass art and here is what I've created. A stained glass piece featuring Lady Gaga wearing the Nazir Mazhar Orb.
As of right now, I have to solder the pieces. After the soldering is done, I will cover the white glass with silver leaf gilding.
I'm going to see Lady Gaga the 7th and 8th of September!!! How do I get this to her?

Man sacrifices Gaga tickets for charity
Lance Chung is gaga for Lady Gaga, but letting go a pair of his own tickets for Friday night’s big concert was worth it, he says.
Chung gave up the tickets — worth $250 — to Kathy Chia, a 22-year-old student from the University of Alberta, as part of a contest he launched after his mother Helena, 49, was diagnosed with stage three multiple myeloma.
It’s the most severe stage of an incurable cancer of plasma blood cells affecting the immune system.
“It was hard for me on Friday and Thursday night because everyone’s Facebook status was buzzing about the concert,” said Chung, a University of Alberta business school student who dropped out of the last semester of his third year of classes to help his mother.
“Until I saw what we were able to achieve from this contest, I have no regrets.”
The “Monsters Against Myeloma” contest raised more than $2,000 for the U.S.-based Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, but Chung says it created awareness “around the world.”
And Hollywood superstar Paris Hilton mentioned Chung’s contest in a tweet on Twitter, Chung said.
“The amount of awareness that we raised was beyond what we originally thought,” said Chung, 21.
Those who took part in the contest were encouraged to raise money for the foundation, and the person who raised the most was awarded the tickets.
Chia said personally raising close to $200 for the cause was more than just about winning the tickets.
“The least I could do was to raise money for the foundation — I didn’t care about winning it,” said Chia, Chung’s former classmate.
“It was a great concert, but (Chung) is a much bigger Lady Gaga fan than I am.”
The former student says plans are already in the works for a second contest that could include a trip to a U.S. destination to see Lady Gaga in concert.
After months of treatment, Chung’s mother, who he affectionately refers to as “mama bear,” is near a remission stage.
It’s expected she will undergo a stem-cell transplant that doctors say should help improve her quality of life.
Ninety-three cents for every dollar raised for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation goes toward cancer research, says spokeswoman Alexandra Karnell.
There are roughly 6,000 Canadians living with Myeloma.

Lady Gaga Wax Figures Will Go On Display At All 10 Madame Tussauds Locations
Lady Gaga is the latest celebrity being immortalized in wax for an official waxwork crafted by the sculptors at Madame Tussauds Museum — and get this: the pop sensation will earn the distinction of being the first star to have her wax likenesses launched at all 10 Madame Tussauds’ museums at the same time.
However, recreating Gaga’s wild costumes and wacky look won’t be cheap. The London-based museum — which boasts locations in the UK, New York, Washington, DC, Germany, and Hollywood — has agreed to plop down an unprecedented $1.5 million to model “different statues of the 24-year-old pop singer” for a display debuting in 2011.
“This is definitely one of the most ambitious projects in our history,” a well-placed source told London’s Daily Star this week.

Gaga’s Special Weapons
Today’s biggest (and strangest) star is cuckoo for New York’s semi-precious weapons.
She may have exploded into international infamy with her debut record, The Fame, but Lady Gaga never forgot where she came from — which couldn’t have worked out better for her favourite New York band, Semi Precious Weapons, opening act on Gaga’s gargantuan Monster Ball.
“She kicked and screamed and put her foot down until everyone that works with her and for her let us open her tour. And here we are,” says SPW frontman Justin Tranter over the phone from a stop in San Jose, Calif., six months into an insane world arena tour that will keep him and his band on the go until next May.
Formed in New York in 2006 by four stylish music school grads looking to inject a little glamour and filth back into rock ’n’ roll, SPW quickly attracted the devotion of Gaga, then a young singer-songwriter.
“She was a big fan of ours, luckily, thank God,” says Tranter. “Probably one of our first fans we had that wasn’t related to me.”
When Gaga began collaborating with Lady Starlight in what Tranter — an emerging style icon in his own right — describes as “over-the-top, Hairspray sort of disco-ball breaking insanity,” SPW knew they’d found their perfect match and asked the pair to open a show for them.
“[Gaga] became our permanent opener in New York; every time we played, she’d open. And then she moved to L.A. to make the biggest record of the decade,” Tranter says. “The first time [SPW] heard ‘Just Dance,’ we were driving through Minnesota to play a show to like 15 people and we heard it on the radio. We always stayed in touch with her, so it was just kind of really surreal and insane.”
Obviously, when its newly successful longtime admirer hand-plucked SPW from the world of dingy bars and danger vans, taking it to a promised land of stadium seating and climate-controlled tour buses, everything changed, says Tranter. Oh, except the most important thing: “Our show is exactly the same. Whether we’re playing in a bar to 30 people or whether we’re playing in an arena, we do the exact same show.”
The hardworking band’s crazy workload hasn’t lessened since graduating from DIY to Monster Ball — it’s just shifted. “There is still some filth and some glamour and some rock ’n’ roll debauchery,” says Tranter, “[But] both situations are tons of work, just in different ways. The smaller bars, we’re driving ourselves from venue to venue, we’re selling our own merch, we’re making our own merch. But there aren’t 200 kids who want to meet you and have their CD signed.”
There are also the daily on-location concert ticket giveaways, the interviews, the soundchecks, the shows, and the inevitable after-parties, which typically feature DJ slots or live SPW sets, to think about. And as Tranter mentions, each gig is followed by a meet-and-greet where fans can get their copy of SPW’s debut record, You Love You, signed.
SPW’s work won’t stop with the Monster Ball: expect the band’s follow-up record early in 2011, as well as a headlining tour though Canada during its off-time this autumn.

Lady Gaga In Vancouver
• Lady Gaga enjoyed a beautiful view of the English Bay during her lunch with a gentleman friend at Vancouver's Rain City Grill. The pop star and her pal took a window seat in a quiet section of the restaurant, and Gaga ordered gazpacho, some local Salt Spring Island mussels and a seared Albacore tuna salad. For dessert? Some crème brûlée and coffee – before Gaga hugged her server and left.

Lady Gaga Flatters Herself
Lady Gaga's male alter-ego has given an interview describing the star as "beautiful, funny and interesting".
The 24-year-old pop star dressed up as a shy Italian mechanic called Jo Calderone for a shoot for the September issue of Vogue Hommes Japan.
Dressed in a variety of butch male clothing and wearing a short dark wig, Gaga appears on the cover of the publication, with several more images featured inside the magazine.
She also gave an interview as her alter-ego, in which she discussed herself in extremely flattering terms.
"I met Lady Gaga at a shoot Nick Knight was doing. She's f**king beautiful, and funny, and interesting," Jo told the magazine.
"I was a little nervous for Nick to start shooting. She said, 'Don't be baby, you were born this way.' I took her out after. The rest is private."
The bizarre comments are likely to increase speculation about Gaga's sex. Rumours she is a hermaphrodite have been circulating for months, and the singer has made fun of the speculation in several interviews as well as in the music video for her song Telephone.

The singer, who is currently working on her new album while trekking across the globe on her 'Monster Ball' tour, said that featuring inside the French museum would be her "ultimate goal".
She told Q: "My ultimate goal, besides making music for ever and touring the world over and over and becoming the greatest pop performance art show on the planet? I want a Lady GaGa exhibit at the Louvre."
GaGa also described herself as a piece of live artwork, adding: "[Being Lady GaGa] there's mystery, there's art.

Review: Lady Gaga proved she's a spectacle with soul on her Tacoma stop
Lady Gaga lived up to the hype.
As one of the most anticipated touring acts of the year, she stimulated the crowd's senses on Saturday night in a way few artists can.
She brought spectacle and backed it up with soul.
The popstress will earn an estimated $200 million from her worldwide tour, according to Billboard, and her Tacoma Dome stop demonstrated why.
Only two years ago, Lady Gaga performed at Seattle's Nathan Hale High School. A few months later, she opened for the New Kids On The Block at the Dome.
"Not even a third of the Dome was filled," recalled the 24 year-old singer during Saturday night's show, dubbed "Monster Ball."
"Everyone stared at us like this," she said, with her mouth gaping wide.
But she sold out the Showbox at the Market in 10 minutes last March. And this time, she packed the Tacoma Dome, filling the arena with 20-some thousand of her fans, whom she calls "little monsters."
They flooded in, paying tribute to the star's quirky looks with blond bobs, body suits and bows made out of hair. It was like Halloween in August as fans of all shapes and sizes, women and men, took liberties with their outfits, baring skin and donning Viking horns, fairy wings and top hats.
They were fearless, like their leader, "mother monster." During the show, Lady Gaga changed a lot, at times wearing nothing but a bejeweled bra, panties and stiletto boots. Other outfits included a purple animal-print body suit paired with a jacket with padded shoulders; a plastic see-through dress; a red cloak; a spiky ice-queen dress with translucent wings; a puffy, sea-green dress with cubes; and a get-up made entirely of blond hair. At times, she resembled a villain out of a Tim Burton movie. How she changed so fast from each complicated outfit to the next is a mystery.
There were shades of Madonna, David Bowie, Michael Jackson and Cher in her work — a lot of glam along with shock and awe. There were crosses on her set and jacket, a fire burning atop her grand piano and fake blood everywhere. She spoke of Jesus loving everybody, just like one of her dancers, who is bisexual. And, to top it off, she shot sparks from her top and bottom.
The show depicted a journey to the "Monster Ball," starting with a set patterned on the gritty streets of New York, complete with metal railings and neon signs. A rickety cab opened its hood, revealing a keyboard. Next up was a subway set, then a circular screen enclosed the star, placing her in a simulated twister. Trees popped up on stage and a giant, glowing angler fish with tentacles threatened to eat her alive. Dancers moved the enormous fish like a puppet, wiggling its tentacles around her.
But it was not all spectacle. Lady Gaga may juice up her show with lots of eye candy, but the main attraction is still her voice. She could scream, then follow up with gospel-style belting. For the bulk of her show, fans danced joyfully to her No. 1 hits, like "Alejandro," "Bad Romance," "Just Dance" and" Paparazzi." And unlike many pop stars, she was singing and dancing, heavily panting at the end of each — obviously not lip-syncing.
And while her song "Speechless" was the least favorite for some, turning into a chance for a bathroom break during the two-hour show, it was also a chance for her to just sing — she was literally stripped down to her skivvies, baring her soul at the microphone, thanking her fans for their loyalty.
"Tonight, I don't want you to leave loving me more," said Lady Gaga. "I want you to leave loving yourself more."

Lady Gaga beats Britney Spears to become top pop diva on Twitter
Lady Gaga is dominating social media networks. Last month the Grammy Award-winning singer became the first living person to reach 10 million fans on Facebook, beating out the likes of President Barack Obama.
On Saturday she defeated Britney Spears to become the top Twitter user with the most followers. She has over 5.69 million fans tuned in to her every Tweet.
Entertainers have long dominated the social networking site since back in 2009, when Ashton Kutcher famously beat CNN to be the first user to get 1 million followers. Then in May, Spears dethroned Kutcher for Twitter supremacy earning, at the time, 4.95 million followers.
The difference between the two pop stars is that, for Spears, it’s very public that she is not always the author of her status updates on her Twitter page. Sometimes her manager or other staff members Tweet for her. However, Lady Gaga often includes personal videos, backstage photos, and personal messages to her “little monsters.”
Lady Gaga commemorated her victory by Tweeting a few photos posing with the rock band KISS that read, "KISS the Queen. #GagaTwitterQueen."
There is a chance Gaga may not hold the title for long. According to The New York Daily News, Justin Bieber gains nearly 800,000 followers each month, could dethrone Gaga in six months.

Lady Gaga Finds Dream Home In Hollywood
LADY GAGA has moved into a sprawling $5 million (£3.3 million) mansion in Hollywood.
The Paparazzi singer, who once boasted of her love for hotel rooms and insisted she'd never settle down, has found the perfect home base in Los Angeles - complete with a suspended pool.
The six-bedroom home sits in the Hollywood Hills but estate agent Chad Rogers is refusing to be more specific about the address for fear swarms of Gaga fans will show up unannounced.
But he tells In Touch magazine it's the perfect home for the eccentric pop star: "It's a very interesting house - it's a mixture of styles, everything from contemporary to Mediterranean. It's got a very eclectic vibe."

LADY GAGA WANTS TO MAKE ANOTHER SONG WITH T.I?
TIP explains why he's pushing back "KING UNCAGED."
A couple of months ago it was revealed that rapper T.I. and Pop star Lady Gaga had recorded a song together that was set to appear on Tip’s upcoming album King Uncaged. However, with Gaga being the perfectionist that she is, she’s decided to scrap the song all together in favor of a newer, even better track!
Peep what the Kang told our friends over at Rap-Up.com below:
“[Gaga] brought it to my knowledge that she would like to top what we already have,” Tip exclusively told Rap-Up.com. “That being said, I don’t know if that’s going to be a keeper or if that’s going to be one-upped or what not.”
The King of the South considers the megastar to be “a phenomenal talent and a wonderful lady,” joking that he had to beg to score some of her precious time. “I begged on hands and knees, please!” he laughed.
T.I. explained how their paths crossed when Rap-Up TV interviewed him at the MTV Movie Awards in June. “I worked with the producer RedOne and made it known that I was interested in working with her and the enthusiasm was shared, and we were able to get it done.”

Meanwhile, T.I. recently announced that he has decided to delay King Uncaged, pushing the project back from its September 28th release to a now unknown, later date in order to divert all of his focus on promoting his new film “Takers”, which hits theaters at the end of this month (Fri. Aug 27).
“I pushed the album back so I can completely focus my attention to the rollout and release of this film Takers,” he said. “I feel it wouldn’t be fair to the film or the album if I was splitting my attention span amongst the two, so I hit pause on the album to completely focus my attention to rolling out this here film. And once we prayerfully debut No. 1—25-plus, 20-plus million—then after those bottles have been popped and that celebration [is] underway, I will completely resubmerge myself back into the music, fully on album mode.”
Tip says he has about a month left of recording and has done over 100 songs already. The next step is to narrow them down and pick out which 14 will make the final cut.

Lady Gaga's 'Monster Ball' to Gross Nearly $200 Million Worldwide
Lady Gaga quickly became one of the most recognizable artists on the planet in 2009, but by the end of that year, relatively few people had seen her perform live. That changed this summer, as Gaga embarked on her first arena tour.
The pop phenomenon hit North American shores on June 28 in Montreal and visited cities such as Boston, New York, Toronto, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Jose, Vancouver, Edmonton and Philadelphia during the early part of the trek. Gaga will continue to play the nation's largest and most prestigious venues until Sept. 19, when the show heads back to Europe.
But America has not seen the last of the Monster Ball. The demand for tickets was so high during the jaunt's first leg that in May, Live Nation announced that Gaga will return to the U.S. next February for another run of U.S. dates. The 2011 North American Monster Ball Tour will kick off Feb. 19 in Atlantic City, with 10 arena dates confirmed through April 18. Additional shows are still expected to be announced, and Semi Precious Weapons, the New York rock band that has opened the tour's 2010 dates, will continue on the road with Gaga until the Monster Ball winds down.
Live Nation Entertainment's global touring division, headed by chairman Arthur Fogel, holds the reins as promoter/producer of the Monster Ball tour. The pairing makes sense, given the team's expertise in producing international runs by U2 and Madonna, and considering Lady Gaga's love of spectacular staging and production.
Was Gaga's lack of mega-tour experience going into the Monster Ball a challenge? "It's an opportunity," explained Fogel to Billboard in May. "As an artist with that kind of talent and vision emerges, it creates a lot of excitement, and ticket sales worldwide demonstrate that people are really excited to see the show.
"Over the course of the next many months we're trying to play to as many people in as many places as possible," he added. "It's an across the board home run."
By the time she wraps Monster Ball, Gaga will have grossed close to $200 million worldwide, according to Billboard estimates, and the tour will certainly stand out as one of the brightest feathers in her well-decorated hat. But there have already been plenty of highlights -- both heartwarming and controversial -- along the way.
At her July headlining debut at Madison Square Garden, Gaga showed her gratitude by dedicating songs to her father, her fans, her native New York City and her friends. "My name is Lady Gaga, and I used to sit right over there, way far in the back and way up top," she said, pointing towards the nosebleed seats. "So, every second you watch me on this stage, you remember I was sitting where you are."
"We did it, little monsters," she told the crowd after the night's closing number, "Bad Romance." "We made it to Madison Square Garden. Thank you for making my dream come true."
In August, Gaga used the Phoenix stop of her tour to speak out against Arizona's controversial immigration law SB 1070, mincing no words as she told thousands of her screaming fans to "actively protest prejudice and injustice."
"I got a phone call from a couple really big rock 'n' rollers, big pop stars, big rappers, and they said, 'We'd like you to boycott Arizona...because of SB 1070,' " Gaga told the crowd. "And I said, 'You really think that us dumb fucking pop stars are going to collapse the economy of Arizona?'" Gaga's stance contrasted with that of The Sound Strike, an organized effort by dozens of artists, including Rage Against the Machine's Zack de La Rocha, to refuse live gigs in the state until SB 1070 is repealed.
"I'll tell you what we have to do about SB 1070," Gaga said. "We have to be active. We have to actively protest, and the nature of the Monster Ball is to actively protest prejudice and injustice, and the bullshit that is put on our society."
"I will not cancel my show," the star continued. "I will yell, and I will scream louder, and I will hold you, and we will hold each other, and we will peaceably protest this state. Do not be afraid, because if it wasn't for all of you immigrants, this country wouldn't have shit."
In between her official tour stops, there were also memorable one-off performances. On May 13, Gaga teamed up with Elton John at New York's Carnegie Hall for the annual Rainforest Fund benefit show, hosted by Sting. John joined Gaga onstage for a second go at their 2010 Grammy Awards duet, gliding from her own piano ballad, "Speechless," to one of his classics, "Your Song." The night was capped off with a star-studded group of performers -- including Gaga, John and Sting, as well as Bruce Springsteen and Blondie's Deborah Harry -- singing Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'." At John's White Tie and Tiara Ball on June 24, Gaga unveiled a new song, "You and I," that she'd later add to her Monster Ball setlist. Gaga described the song as "a bit of a rock 'n' roll tune" and performed it in signature theatrical fashion, pounding the song out on piano with her stiletto boots.
On August 6, Gaga brought her Monster Ball to Lollapalooza in Chicago and became the festival's most-talked about headliner. Her first Lollapalooza performance had been on a small side stage in 2007, where she received more than a few bewildered stares and was unapologetically called a "trainwreck." Three years later, wearing the same silver-jeweled bra she wore at that first performance, she wasn't going to let anyone forget where she started. "I had no record deal. No one believed in me," she said, tearing up. "But we did it. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, for coming to this show tonight."
Her two-hour set was high drama and, unsurprisingly, not quite appropriate for the younger Gaga fans seated on their parents' shoulders, as she mused, "I don't know if you've heard, but I have a pretty tremendous dick -- so get your dicks out!"
Earlier in the day, Gaga made a flashy cameo during a set by Semi Precious Weapons, diving from the stage into the crowd wearing torn fishnets, flesh-colored shorts and hardly anything else, to the delight of her fans. When she wasn't singing, dancing, or soaking herself in blood during her own set, Gaga testified about her struggles with self-esteem and her rough start in the music biz. "I didn't used to be brave," she said. "I was made fun of in school. I got told 'No,' but you have made me brave, little monsters. I'm gonna be brave for you."

Lady Gaga To Steal Britney Spears' Twitter Crown
In a symbolic exchanging of the pop-princess crown, Lady Gaga will soon become the world's top Twitter user by overtaking current champ Britney Spears' number of followers.
According to social media statistics service Famecount.com, Gaga recorded 5,635,460 followers earlier today, while Spears had 5,646,028. With current growth rates, the "Bad Romance" singer should pass Spears' count later today, or by tomorrow at the latest.
Spears' brief run at the top of Twitter began less than three months ago, when she overtook Ashton Kutcher for the top spot.
While Famecount.com confirms that Gaga's Twitter followers, 16 million Facebook friends and YouTube popularity currently make her the most popular entity online, the singer's Twitter crown is far from secure. With Justin Bieber adding 800,000 new Twitter followers a month to his existing 4.5 million, the teen star could pass Gaga within six months.

Lady Gaga's New Album Will Be 'Shocking,' Says RedOne
On June 24, 2010, Lady Gaga leaned into a microphone and said five words that Little Monsters around the world had been dying to hear.
"This is a brand-new record."
Seated behind a deconstructed piano at Elton John's 12th annual White Tie & Tiara Ball -- wearing nothing but a BeDazzled black bra and panties -- pop's reigning princess unveiled the piano-driven rock 'n' roll tune "You and I" to the exclusive audience at the Windsor, England benefit.
As expected in the Internet age, the song did not stay confined within the walls of the English mansion for long -- a video of the performance quickly became a YouTube sensation when it was leaked days later. By the time Gaga reached New York's Madison Square Garden two weeks later, ardent fans were singing along to every word of the tune, which has now became a show-stopping staple on her Monster Ball tour.
The new track was also the centerpiece of her record-breaking performance on NBC's "Today" show on July 9. Despite the early hour, 20,000 Gaga-lovers crowded New York's Rockefeller Plaza, making her five-song mini-set the most well-attended gig in "Today's" concert series' history.
"You and I" is the first and only new material Gaga has shared with fans since she announced that her new album was all but done and would be released sometime in 2011. She teased fans with the promise that she would not reveal the title of the new record until midnight on New Year's Eve.
"I think I'm gonna get the album title tattooed on me and put out the photo," she told Rolling Stone in June. "I've been working on it for months now, and I feel very strongly that it's finished right now. It came so quickly. Some artists take years; I don't. I write music every day." And in the pre-Fall issue of iD magazine, Gaga calls her new album "my absolute greatest work I've ever done, and I'm so excited about it...The message, the melodies, the direction, the meaning, what it will mean to my fans and what it will mean to me in my own life -- it's utter liberation."
At Lollapalooza in August, she confirmed that "You and I" will definitely be included on the upcoming album, which she's been working on in part in Chicago. The song is "about real true love," and "about the most important person in my life," she hinted as she challenged the crowd to name that tune and received the correct answer shouted back to her by tens of thousands of fans in unison.
"I've been writing a lot on the road. I've been real inspired by the highway, and real inspired by rock 'n' roll music," pop queen Gaga revealed at Lollapalooza about some of the direction of her new material. "I like to listen to rock 'n' roll, whether you believe that or not, while we drive."
As anticipation grows around the new album (which Gaga has asserted is her "best work to date"), so do the rumors. On August 12, 2010, celebrity blog Oh No They Didn't posted a scan of a document which hinted that Gaga may have collaborated with David Bowie during a July recording session in Sydney, Australia in July. Bowie, however, quickly shot down the rumor, saying in a statement, "The suggestion that David Bowie is producing and participating in the production of Lady Gaga's next album is untrue and a hoax."
While he couldn't reveal any specific information about the album, producer RedOne -- the Moroccan-Swedish mastermind behind Gaga's monster hits "Just Dance," "Love Game," "Poker Face," "Bad Romance" and "Alejandro" -- assures Billboard that the new material is worth waiting for.
"It's going to be shocking, shocking, shocking!" RedOne says of Gaga's new music. "You never want to go too far from your brand -- people love you for a reason. But we still want to give them something with a kick, something that makes them say, 'Oh my God! We didn't expect this!'
"When you heard 'Bad Romance' after 'Poker Face,' it was like the best thing you've ever heard," he continues. "We want that type of reaction. I think that's part of my job and her job -- to keep her evolving. "
RedOne (aka Nadir Khayat) confirms that he has worked with Gaga on two tracks and describes both of them as "massive" hits-to-be. While RedOne and Gaga's studio synergy has proven its platinum power (the pair collaborated on nine tracks on her first two albums), the producer says he encouraged her to add some new names to the production credits this time around.
"After 'Just Dance' and 'Poker Face,' 'Love Game' and 'Boys Boys Boys,' I got a sound out of her, and that made it easier for other producers," he says, though he remains mum on naming names. "Her sound is so defined that no matter what people can follow it. That sound belongs to her."
It's this ability to reinvent herself without losing her sense of self that originally drew RedOne to Lady Gaga a few years ago. "When I met her I just felt her energy -- and of course she was dressed in that special way [that] caught my eye," he half-jokes. "She had this energy and was so knowledgeable of music. She makes an impression on you right away. Immediately I thought, 'I can do something big with this girl.'"
That initial meeting took place very shortly after Lady Gaga was signed to Def Jam Records. RedOne saw so much in the up-and-coming singer -- even at first sight -- that even on the day she was dropped from the label just three months later, he joined her in the studio to hear the songs she'd already recorded. The music he heard confirmed his instinct about her talent. After listening, RedOne immediately realized her vast potential, especially since Gaga turned out to be a good singer and musician as well as a strong songwriter ("lyrically, it's always interesting with her," he says). The only thing that needed tweaking, he felt, was someone adjusting the arrangements and mix it to make it all sound more mainstream and radio-friendly.
"It was really good musically but it was a bit too left. I asked her if we could take it more to the middle, and she said, 'I'm open. Let's do it,'" he recalls. Once he was behind the board, he eagerly added "big drums, almost like a rock song with synths." And the polished Gaga sound the world came to love began to take shape.
Now, with that early period of matching Gaga with the right sonic feel vindicated by a raft of hits, RedOne explains that the goal with her next album, as with any, is pushing the music to not only change but to grow. "We try to take the sound and make it bigger and more interesting every time," he says. "And every time and era has its sound; you always want to be the first to jump on it."
Propelled by his success with Lady Gaga and sure to influence his work on Lady Gaga's new tracks, RedOne has been working hard with other artists. He recently completed Nicole Scherzinger's upcoming album, with a single expected to be released by end of year, and he also just launched his own label, 2101, through Universal Records. 2101's first artist is 23-year-old singer/songwriter, Mohombi. And just as in the case of Gaga, RedOne has stepped in to effectively launch the career of this already locally-praised artist.
Mohombi's album doesn't have a release date yet because they are still defining that sound -- but it's one of the lessons RedOne learned working with Gaga, and likely a factor in the patient timing of working on her highly-anticipated follow up. "That's one of the things I really believe in -- never give an album until people want it," RedOne says. "Even with Gaga, the [first] album was released kind of early, but it wasn't until 'LoveGame' that it took off and people realized she had talent. That's when they suddenly paid attention. I think that's important -- to give them an album when they're ready."
If the recent reaction to Gaga's every new bit of music -- from her hit remix album to the massive fan love for her new tune "You and I" -- is any indication, the world is more than ready.

Caught! Lady Gaga Goes KÀ-KÀ
Lady Gaga's been making her rounds this month with her hottest-ticket-in-town summer tour. But that doesn't mean that Gagatron can't enjoy a little R&R now and then.
Fresh off her sold-out Las Vegas show at the MGM Grand on Friday night, the pop diva spent Saturday evening on the other side of the stage for a change...
...taking in an early showing (for Vegas, at least) of KÀ by Cirque de Soleil at the MGM Grand. Gaga fever was rampant for the entire weekend in the anticipation and aftermath of her sold-out Friday performance, so it was surprising that she went largely unnoticed at the hotel.
Wearing "a floor-length black veil and, well...not much else," says our source, Gaga enjoyed the show in the company of over a dozen dancers, handlers and wardrobe folk. Needless to say, she probably sat in the middle surrounded by a 50-foot electric barricade. I mean, it's Gaga, after all.

NO BOWIE GAGA COLLABORATION
Rumours and lies and stories they made up...Part 461
When this tall story first surfaced a few days ago it was denied as a hoax in an update to the same article and we thought that would be the end of it.
I guess some folk see what they want to see though and now the rumour that David Bowie has been working with Lady Gaga seems to have taken off.
The hoax was started by some bright spark or other with the above forgery. We've highlighted the supposed Bowie contributions.
However, in a nutshell, the suggestion that David Bowie is producing and participating in the production of Lady Gaga's next album is untrue and a hoax.

Lady Gaga's Unending Third Album
Lady Gaga is still making music for her upcoming third album even though she has previously claimed it was completed.
Lady Gaga "can't stop" making new music for her third album.
The 'Alejandro' singer admits that despite previous claims the LP was complete, she has had flashes of inspiration since and has not been able to finish it.
She said: "I know I told everyone my album was done, but I can't stop writing. I might have to put out two records. I never stop writing. I'm always in the studio and always writing."
The 24-year-old New Yorker also claims she will not be reinventing herself in the future, but will continue to evolve as a person.
She told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show: "Well I do think I will be... I am Gaga. It's kind of like if your parents have nicknames for you. My nickname is Gaga. But I am ever reinventing.
"I am ever changing. I don't know. I don't reinvent from album to album, I reinvent from day to day, to song to song, from video to video. It's quite chaotic! But my fans understand that because they relate to that chaos in themselves."

Lady GaGa ‘Can’t Trust Boyfriend'
Lady Gaga has been left devastated after finding her boyfriend Luc Carl is still seeing his ex-girlfriend.
The singer — who recently rekindled her romance with Carl — fears she’ll lose her man to his former flame, according to a new report in Britain’s Grazia magazine.
“She’s only just got back together with Luc and now she’s frightened she’s going to lose him again because she simply can’t trust him,” a source said.
“She’s also upset because this seems to make her the ‘other woman’.”
GaGa and Luc dated five years ago before she shot to fame, but split over her then drug habit.
“GaGa has built this whole career and she had to prove she could do it,” said the source.
“But in her personal life she feels like a fool because she still can’t make the man she loves love her and only her.
“Luc’s ex told her they were still together. She was so upset. Luc had promised GaGa he’s treat her like a princess and all the hurt was in the past.
“GaGa says it’s a matter of self-respect now and she may have to end it because she’s just not high enough on his list of priorities.”

Lady Gaga Wins Two Teen Choice Awards!
Lady Gaga took home two surfboards at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards, winning Choice Female Artist & Choice Female Summer Music Star!
RedOne Launches Label
Lady Gaga's co-writer and producer RedOne has joined forces with Universal Music to form his own record label, and has signed Mohombi as his first artist.
Lady Gaga's co-writer and producer has launched his own record label.
RedOne - who has also worked alongside the likes of Michael Jackson, Kylie Minogue and Akon - has joined forces with Universal Music to form new label 2101, and has already made his first signing in the form of 23-year-old singer-songwriter Mohombi.
He said: "We are incredibly fortunate to be launching with an artist like Mohombi, who has so much potential. He is a powerhouse talent ... writing, singing, performing, dancing ... a true entertainer. Mohombi lifts my spirits and I believe he will elevate the world with his music."
The 'Poker Face' co-writer explained he thinks the secret to creating a global hit is encouraging artists to become a brand, as the fans are more likely to "buy into" them.
He told BBC News: "I thank God for my knowledge of music. But the real secret is the artist. We did it right with Gaga. People are buying into her. The whole package - her lifestyle, her sound, her vision."
RedOne went on to add he gets record labels coming to him all the time asking for him to create something which sounds like a Lady Gaga hit, but he will only invest his time in artists if they do likewise.
He said: "That's her sound. I made that music, yes, but I made it for Gaga, because that's her. That's what she breathes.
"I'm not doing any more of what I call 'fast food writing' - where people demand a single, a single, a single. No. If you want me to invest my time in you, you need to invest yourself in me, as an artist."

Lady Gaga Planning Movie?!
LADY GaGa wants make her own movie!
The Poker Face singer is quietly making plans to launch her film career with a big-budget blockbuster, according to a report in British tabloid the News of the World.
The paper says the movie project — which will involve X-Men and The Usual Suspects director Bryan Singer – is a cross between Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker flick and Beyonce’s Dreamgirls.
“GaGa is a real creative genius and is thinking about new possibilities all the time,” a source said.
“She’s very excited about a movie, but she wants to do it right. She wants to work with the best people in the business.
“Lady GaGa is a workaholic who loves pushing the boundaries.
“Straight music is never going to be enough for her. If she isn’t breaking new ground and doing new things she doesn’t really feel that she is truly alive.
“The Telephone video was the closest thing she has done to a film and she was in her element.
“GaGa wants to emulate what Michael Jackson did during the 80s. You can already see that with her music videos. Every one of them is a mini event. So it’s only logical she moves that on to the big screen.
“GaGa likes to be in control. She is behind everything on her own movie. It could take a long time.”

Lady Gaga Fires Up Lollapalooza, Stage-Dives
Lady Gaga's first Lollapalooza performance was on a small side stage in 2007, where she received more than a few bewildered stares and was unapologetically called a "trainwreck." So when she headlined the first night of this year's Lollapalooza, wearing the same silver-jeweled bra she wore at that first performance, she wasn't going to let anyone forget where she started.
"I had no record deal. No one believed in me," she said, tearing up. "But we did it. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, for coming to this show tonight."
Earlier in the day, Gaga made a flashy cameo during a set by Monster Ball tour openers Semi-Precious Weapons, diving from the stage into the crowd twice wearing torn fishnets, denim shorts and hardly anything else, to the delight of her fans. When she wasn't singing, dancing, or soaking herself in blood during her own set, Gaga preached about her self-esteem struggles and her rough start in the music biz. "I didn't used to be brave," she said. "I was made fun of in school. I got told 'No,' but you have made me brave, little monsters. I'm gonna be brave for you."
Her two-hour set was high drama and, unsurprisingly, not quite appropriate for the younger Gaga fans seated on their parents' shoulders, as she mused, "I don't know if you've heard, but I have a pretty tremendous dick -- so get your dicks out!" (Thankfully, no one seemed to oblige.)
After every couple of songs there was a costume change, but most of her ensembles didn't really follow any sort of pattern or theme: There was a lampshade-looking getup made of hair, a white nun's habit with a see-through rubber dress, and a green, shiny, Tinkerbell-esque outfit near the end -- as well as gushing blood, copious amounts of glitter and her infamous sparks-shooting bra.
She played hits, including "Just Dance," "Telephone," "Paparrazzi," "Bad Romance" and "Boys Boys Boys," the latter dedicated to "my biggest fans, all the Chicago gays." As another nod to that first Lolla performance, Gaga explained that she and her DJ, Lady Starlight, used to have interludes of heavy metal music during her show, so she invited Starlight on stage to dance to Metallica's "Metal Militia," during which they also lit hairspray on fire.
While Gaga represented the flashier, glammed-up side of New York City, the Strokes took the other main stage back downtown for a no-frills set that proved that, despite laying low the past couple of years, this band really hasn't missed a beat. Though slightly distracted by the fireworks that went off during Gaga's show, a leather jacket-clad Julian Casablancas led the group through favorites like "Last Nite," "Juice Box" and "Reptilia." Even with little crowd banter, the chemistry among the band members was there.
Earlier on, Chicago soul legend Mavis Staples -- in perfect form at 71 years old -- delivered inspiring gospel tunes in her low, powerful rasp, with help from her band and three backup singers. Staples started with cuts from her upcoming Anti- Records release, "You Are Not Alone" -- produced by another local hero, Jeff Tweedy of "the Wilco band," as she called them -- before Tweedy joined Staples on stage to play the record's country-blues title track.
While Staples provided old-school soul, Raphael Saadiq brought his retro soul to the other side of the park, where he got the crowd to dance and asked, "I want to ask you a question, Chicago: Do you love me?!" Saadiq also performed a snippet of "Feels Good," the hit song from Tony! Toni! Toné!, the group he was in before taking off with his solo career.
The rest of the day was heavy on synthesizer-driven dance music to gear up for Gaga. New wave heroes Devo put on one of the weirdest and most energetic sets of the day, complete with choreographed dance moves and a handful of costume changes. Blue and white energy dome hats peppered the crowd, as keyboardist Bob Mothersbaugh proclaimed, "Greetings, Chicago. It's 2010 and we're here to f*cking whip it again!," prompting most people to make whipping motions with their hands as the group played its best-known song.
Devo played tracks from this year's "Something for Everybody," the group's first LP in about 20 years. A highlight was "Don't Shoot (I'm A Man)," in which the members shout, "Don't tase me, bro!" The group started in gray suits with masks, then changed to black Devo T-shirts, followed by yellow one-piece jumpsuits, which band members ripped off of each other onstage to reveal the T-shirts again, along with shorts and kneepads.
Brooklyn indie-pop duo Matt & Kim followed Devo with the happiest hour of the day: Drummer Kim Schifino stood on her drums nearly as often as she played them, while keyboardist/vocalist Matt Johnson often had one hand on his synths while using the other to signal the crowd to get louder. They joked about Schifino's lack of cleavage and told the crowd about a dude who streaked through their show at Coachella. Teeth-baring grins never left their faces.
Along with fan favorites like "Lessons Learned" and "Yea Yeah," the couple covered parts of Biz Markie's "Just A Friend" and Alice DeeJay's "Better Off Alone," encouraged crowd surfing, and provided fans with balloons to blow up to create a rowdy early-evening dance party. At one point, Schifino stood on top of the crowd to do a quick booty dance (and then crowd-surfed), while Johnson climbed up the side of the stage structure.
The first time Matt & Kim played Lollapalooza, in 2007, it was at 11 a.m., and they drew a big enough crowd that when CSS couldn't make it later in the day, they were asked to play a second set. Their first Lolla experience might not have been a disaster, but like Gaga, they've sure come a long way, too.
